Modern Arms is a family owned and operated company specializing in small arms related products and services.
First established in 2008 under the name Knight Tactical, we began to develop concepts in small arms that we believe will revolutionize weapon systems and the environment in which they operate. Modern Arms maintains a virtual CAD library of over 12,000 firearm components which we use to examine existing weapon systems and develop new parts and accessories.
So you may be asking yourself, "Why the name change?" Good Question! Well, it all started when we came up with our first idea for a patent and needed a name for the company which was going to produce it. Aftermonths of trying to figure out a good name and not being able to do it (it came down to 20 or 30 possible names), I, as president of the company, did what anyone in my position would do. I sent the names to my motherand asked her which one she like best and Knight Tactical was born. Well, the problem with Knight Tactical is it sounds too close to Knight's Armament, which belongs to someone we respect very much. For this reason, we decided it was time to go back to the drawing board and come up with a different name before we launched our new product line. All of the components we offered our previous customers are still available through Modern Arms. Our location, phone and fax numbers are all the same - only our name and website have changed.
In 2009, we attended the Shot Show in Orlando, FL to locate distributors and resources for the new product line we wanted to bring to market. It soon became apparent that there was a great amount of interest in what we were developing, and at that time we had little more than a patent, computers, and basic machine facility to reduce development cost for the project. We are happy to say that less than a year later we have created a fantastic prototyping facility filled with brand new equipment. We got rid of the old hand-cranked machines and brought in top-of-the-line CNC machining centers. We upgraded and updated all of our computers and software and are well on our way to bringing our new product line to our customers.
